A message from GALVA CUSD 224
This is Doug O’Riley from Galva School District. Due to icy conditions on our rural roads, and conditions unlikely to improve by 9:00, school is cancelled today. There will be no sports practices during the day, today. A decision concerning tonight’s games will be made later today based upon the conditions this afternoon.

Our next Family Evening Event will be Wednesday, February 8, 2017. We will have a planning meeting with our Student Leaders on this Thursday, January 12 at 3:10 in the Elementary Music room. Parents are welcome to come & help with the planning.
We will have outdoor recess today! Please dress appropriately with hat, gloves, boots and winter coat. Snow pants are not required today due to lack of snow, but will keep your legs warm.
Mrs. Peters’ students were dissecting owl pellets today. They were having fun digging into the pellets. Wow!
Tomorrow, January 4th, we will begin our second semester of the 2016-17 school year. (See the January 2017 Newsletter for some school day reminders.) Although, Cats Commitment will NOT begin until Tuesday, January 10th.
Elementary Report Cards and Winter Benchmark STAR Reports will be sent home on Friday, January 6th. Be sure to check your child’s bookbag/folder on Friday. You can always login to Parent Portal for Power School to check grades, fees and absences. Please contact your child’s homeroom teacher with questions about these reports.
